Williamsville, N.Y.-based Tops Markets has reached an agreement to sell six former P&C Food stores to Price Chopper Inc., Schenectady, N.Y., for $14 million, the Watertown Daily Times reported. A purchase agreement has been signed for P&C stores in Canton, Potsdam, Massena, Gouverneur and West Carthage as well as a store is in Lincoln, N.H., said Neil M. Golub, Price Chopper's chief executive officer.

Schenectady, N.Y.-based the Golub Corp., parent company of the Price Chopper grocery chain, has begun the process of moving into its new headquarters in Schenectady, the Albany, N.Y., Times Union reported. Up to 1,000 employees eventually will be working in the $22 million, 220,000-square-foot facility. The move should be completed by May.

Jim Straub, retail effectiveness manager for Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co., has been named value-added salesperson of the year by Monterey, Calif.-based Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc., a subsidiary of Westlake Village, Calif.-based Dole Food Co. Inc. Straub is a 25-year veteran of the produce industry and has been instrumental in managing and gaining business within Kroger as well as with other retailers, according to a news release.
